5/5/2002   sore head - entirely my own fault   by Louisa
I've just got back from London after the gig with Fosca and RIviera, and am feeling quite ill. I think the night was a resounding success, maybe not the best gig we've ever done, and most people seemed to carry on with their conversations when we were playing, but it was the most fun I've had in ages, and I think I actually managed to play bass loud enough for people to hear, and once I took my new ear plugs out it sounded good.
I didn't wear the pink pointy shoes so didn't spear people with them on the dancefloor. I wore trainers instead, which was good because I got into an argument with the bloke from Fosca about wearing trainers on stage. I still maintain that trainers are a thousand times better than stupid arsed white socks like the ones he was wearing. Certain members of Pretty don't seem that good at band diplomacy, but it's largely the fault of the lager... and the fact that sometimes it can be fun to be argumentative, especially when the music's so loud that no one can hear the expletives that you're muttering anyway.
The other excitement of the evening was that Mark Morris from the Bluetones almost punched Susan.
It was lovely to see the lovely Riviera again, and talk to Logan, and also dance to the wonderful Fischerspooner and Felix da Housecat. I hope we didn't disgrace ourselves too much and that the FanClub will have as back again. I think I should sleep now, and start again tomorrow.
Apologies to Susan and Sarah and our entourage for being too weedy to carry the bass case. I will take up body building before the next gig :-)
