What do you mean by inside another class?

If you want to extend the class? You can do the following:
require('class.upload.php');
class my_upload extends upload {
  function my_extension() {
    // my code here
  }
}

In any case, you pass on $_FILES when you instanciate the class. For instance:
$foo = new upload($_FILES['my_field']);
